One of the best ways to gain backlinks is through your signature on High PR Forums. Not only do these links give you great link juice, but they also can potentially give you a small amount of traffic as well if you are providing very high quality information.

Please, make sure you read their rules before you post. Some of the forum require you to have a certain amount of posts before you can add a link to your sig. Also, never SPAM these high PR forums. You should post quality content and really add to the conversation. If you can do this, then you can gradually build up hundreds or even thousands of links over the years. I love high PR forums because you can change your signature any time you want too. So if you sell a blog or website, you can go and change the link in your signature and then in time ALL of those links will then convert over to your new website or blog. Pretty cool, huh? Enjoy!

Nice list. It does take a long while to curate a quality list of forums. In our expreience, 10 posts seems to be the watermark to get to a point where you are allowed to create an email signature . One point that was unclear to me was whether or not a change in a signature link would be applied retroactively to change links in prior posts or just apply to posts on a going forward basis. My experience with a few of these was that it was going forward only, but possibly this has changed. Thanks for sharing.

I cannot speak for all of the different forum softwares, but I can speak for vBulletin. That is the way vBulletin works without a doubt. It takes a little while before all of the links and/or old posts are indexed again, but it's more than worth the wait. I have created and sold many forums with vBulletin in the past and I still to this day have accounts on them which I go in and change every now and then. Every time they have carried over. Not even all at once, some reindex faster than others. It all depends on how often the forum owner has them set to reindex old posts. Many forums are set to a month or so. I hope this helps you in your Forum backlinks venture. :]

Nice list, but does links in forum have any effect on page rank?
